How it works
When you choose a PDF, the tool renders the page in your browser with pdf.js, the open-source engine behind Firefox’s PDF viewer. You create a signature two ways: draw it freehand on the signature pad — mouse, trackpad or finger — or type your name and have it rendered in a handwriting-style font. Once added, the signature becomes a box you drag over the page preview to position exactly where you want it. When you click Apply, the signature is stamped onto that page with the open-source pdf-lib library and the file is saved. Every step runs on your device, so the document and the signature are never uploaded.
How to sign a PDF

Drawn or typed — which to choose
A drawn signature looks like your real one, which is what most forms and agreements expect; on a touchscreen you can sign with a finger and it comes out surprisingly natural. A typed signature, rendered in a script font, is the quicker option when you just need a name in a signature field and exactness does not matter — filling in your own paperwork, for instance, or initialling a draft. Either way, you are placing an image onto the page rather than altering the document’s text, so the rest of the file stays exactly as the sender prepared it. If you also need to tick boxes or add dates, place a typed text snippet the same way you place a signature.
Why sign in your browser
A document you are signing is, by definition, one you are agreeing to — an offer letter, a lease, an NDA, a consent form. Those are among the last files you should hand to an unknown server. Most online signing tools upload your PDF, and sometimes your signature too, to process them remotely. This tool never does: the page preview, the signature you draw or type, and the final stamped file all stay on your own device. There is no account, no email capture, and no watermark added to your document. After the first visit the page is cached, so you can sign offline, and nothing about your agreement is logged or stored by us — because it never reaches us in the first place.

How do I add my signature?
Draw it in the signature box with your mouse, trackpad or finger, or switch to the type tab and enter your name. Click Add, then drag the signature to the right spot on the page and click Apply.
Can I place the signature anywhere on the page?
Yes. After you add a signature it appears as a draggable box over the page preview. Move it wherever you need — over a signature line, a date field or a checkbox — before applying it.
Can I sign a page other than the first?
Yes. Use the previous and next buttons to move through the document, then place your signature on the page you are viewing.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The page preview, the signature and the final stamping all happen in your browser. Your PDF and your signature never leave your device and are never sent anywhere.
Is a drawn signature legally valid?
In many places a clear intent to sign — including a drawn or typed signature added to a document — can be legally binding, but the rules vary by country and by the type of agreement. For high-stakes contracts, check what your jurisdiction requires.
Does signing change the rest of the PDF?
No. Only your signature image is stamped onto the page you chose. The existing pages, text and images are left exactly as they were.
